As an artisanal perfumery lab, we owe it to art—and to ourselves—to create only what we consider to be a personal expression of excellence. Each release is a one-of-a-kind olfactory journey, carefully crafted to stand apart.

It begins with a vision—a concept that might simmer for months before it takes shape. Then comes the meticulous process of selecting the right "olfactory colors" to paint that vision. This translates to the highest-quality materials sourced for our design phase, which can last days or even months.....Most importantly; we NEVER rush.

If I don’t fall in love with my creation, I simply won’t offer it. While that may seem limiting from a business perspective, at The Oud Lab, we see it as integrity—a commitment to our craft and our clients.

The Birth of Purple Blaze
For Purple Blaze, I sought to unite several notes I personally love—notes that are rarely compatible but, when mastered, can create magic.

• Purple: Smooth, resinous, molasses-like warmth.
  
  
• Animalics: Bold yet subtle. I chose Deer Musk to provide a quiet backbone... peeking through without overpowering—reserved for those who truly listen to a scent.
  
  
• Earthy Notes: Not the predictable vetiver or patchouli. Some other ingredients, reminiscent of lotus roots and the soil they grow in.
  
  
• Sweet Warmth: A whisper of licorice, carefully layered into the composition.
  
  
• Ouds: Crown jewels from forests of Borneo and Malaysia — purple, blue, and tinged with orange.
  
  
• Florals: A carefully balanced accord of rare florals, avoiding common ones "like Rosa Damascena "while achieving head-turning complexity.

The rest is part of The Oud Lab’s secret sauce—ingredients that elevate the blend to something uniquely ours.

The Experience
Imagine sitting on a porch, overlooking a tranquil field. The sun begins to rise, casting golden light on the scene. As it climbs, a purple lotus blooms before your eyes, releasing a velvety aroma that fills the air. You breathe it in—a licorice-sweet, oudy warmth, layered with earthy, grainy nuances.

And then it hits you. That earthy note? It’s the mud. The very foundation from which the lotus grows. As the saying goes: No Mud, No Lotus.

Purple Blaze is an olfactory reflection of this idea—purple, earthy, woody, and clean, wrapped in a symphony of dark red florals and sweet berries.
